Established in 1961, Credit Libanais is one of the alpha banks in Lebanon that remains deeply rooted in the country. The Bank has the 8th largest local network and a subsidiary bank in Senegal.

CL Group provides its customers, alongside key classical banking activities, sophisticated services in E-commerce, Smart Cards, Points of Sale, ATM networks and e-banking secure services. While continuing to provide great customer experience, CL embarked over the past 2 years on a Digital Journey transformation strategy to cater to the changing needs of the millennials. CL e-outreach encompasses 10,500 electronic point-of-sale, 97 ATMs, 184,000 banking cards distributed, 24/7 secure online banking services, an advanced customer service center, CL e-bank applications, to name but a few.

Year after year, CL reaffirms its commitment to conducting business with high ethical standards and sustainability in mind. Since 2015, the Bank is an official member of the UN Global Compact Network, the world’s largest corporate responsibility initiative with over 9,500 participants in 160 countries including Lebanon.


Bank's Ownership

Credit Libanais was established on July 12, 1961, as a Lebanese joint stock company. The Bank's ownership is split between CIH BAHRAIN INTERNATIONAL HOLDING SAL controlling 35.06% of the share capital and EFG HERMES CL HOLDING SAL with an 8.81% stake. The remaining 56.13% is owned by over 1,000 individual shareholders, including investment companies, sophisticated funds, individuals, executives and employees of the Bank, each with less than 5% stake.
